We have an immediate opening for an experienced high-voltage project manager for our Line Division.  Primary responsibilities include:

  • Receive and review bid documents, drawings, and project scope
  • Understand and utilize estimating software
  • Provide a quantitative estimate of electrical commodities and research pricing
  • Interact with necessary subcontractors and provide information to vendors
  • Receive quotations and determine which offers are best for CVE
  • Review work with upper management and finalize estimates
  • Compile bid documentation and submit to originator
  • Manage the construction process and provide monthly job status reports
  • Purchase and authorize the purchase of materials and equipment for projects
  • Develop project schedules, assign cost and manpower to the schedule, and provide forecasting
  • Oversee preparation of monthly billings
  • Coordinate with field personnel/supervision and provide necessary field documentation and instructions
  • Inspect jobsites when necessary
  • Negotiate and resolve customer concerns
  • Prepare and deliver project closeout documents
  • Develop new business opportunities

Qualified candidates will have the following skills and abilities:

  • Understanding of the basic laws of electricity and electrical systems
  • Proficiency with various software applications
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of electrical plans, blueprints, and drawings
  • Familiarity with electrical equipment, materials, and specifications
  • Experience with contract documents (drawings, subcontracts, addendums, specifications, and change orders)
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics
  • Ability to use electrical formulas
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment
  • Ability to visualize and sketch an electrical layout
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug/alcohol test and background check
