The future of lighting is upon us and available at the flip of a switch. Power over ethernet (PoE) enhances traditional lighting packages, making a building “smart” and connected like never before.

The rise of LEDs has enhanced energy efficiency and made it possible to power lights with ethernet cable. One cable can power and control multiple PoE light fixtures simultaneously. Ethernet cables can also be used to power other devices as well such as: security cameras, door lock systems, digital displays, phones, and occupancy sensors.

Light Fidelity (LiFi)

Light fidelity (LiFi) is a visible light communication system wirelessly transmitting information through pulses of light emitted from LED bulbs. The frequency of the light pulses is undetectable to the human eye and data moves at speeds over 100Gbps. Data travels through the light pulses to and from receivers.

The receivers collect and interpret the transmitted data. LiFi transmits information more quickly, is more reliable, is virtually interference free, and more secure than radio technology such as WiFi or cellular.
