Project Overview

Cache Valley Electric completed its first design-build data center in 2013 for Teleperformance, a long-time CVE client. Teleperformance uses the most current technology to provide customer care, technical support and debt-collection operations for companies around the world.

This 12,400 sq. ft., Tier II data center is designed with four quadrants or sections. Initial construction completed sections 1 and 2. Sections 3 and 4 were finished as a core and shell with provisions for future build outs, including infrastructure for future generators and UPS. The entire building can convert to a Tier III data center without shutdown to the existing operation, a seamless transition with minimal expense.

Scope of Work

  • The entire power distribution, lighting systems, line voltage connections to mechanical HVAC equipment, exterior building lighting, lightning protection and fire alarm systems
  • BIM (building information modeling) technology to prevent conflict with other systems in the extensive underground conduit
  • MX-350 automatic transfer controlling system to replace traditional paralleling gear
  • Build out the facility’s voice and data infrastructure
  • 130,000 feet of Category 6a cable and 50,000 feet of fiber to the four quadrants as well as office space and the building’s command center
