Project Overview

In 2016, Nucor Corporation (NYSE: NUE) formed a 50-50 joint venture with JFE Steel Corporation of Japan to build and operate a plant in central Mexico to supply that country’s automotive market. Today, CVE is advising and supervising all aspects of electrical construction.

Scope of Work

  • Coldmill facility containing CGL (continuous galvanizing line) and RCL (recoiling line)
  • CGL’s finished product will be automotive-grade galvanized steel cold coils of steel from U.S. and Japan, galvanized onsite with end customers being numerous car manufacturers, located within a three- or four-hour drive from the project.
  • Switching station for local power company
  • Receiving substation 115 KV incoming
