CVE is seeking a full-time Procurement Specialist (Buyer) to support a major data center electrical project. You’ll manage the procurement of electrical materials, equipment, and supplies critical to the successful execution of high-stakes, mission-critical construction. This role focuses on sourcing, negotiating, and issuing purchase orders using Remarcable and Viewpoint, along with Microsoft Office tools. As a key support position, you’ll ensure timely material availability, effective cost control, and strong supplier relationships for one of CVE's largest data center projects.

What you'll do:

  • Gather and evaluate quotes from multiple suppliers for electrical materials, components, and equipment required for data center construction
  • Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, lead times, payment conditions, and delivery schedules with vendors to optimize project costs and timelines
  • Compile bid packages, compare proposals, and make recommendations based on total value, quality, reliability, and project specifications
  • Create, issue, and manage Purchase Orders (POs) through Remarcable, ensuring accuracy, compliance with project requirements, and proper documentation
  • Track PO status, monitor deliveries, resolve discrepancies, and expedite orders as needed to prevent project delays
  • Maintain detailed records in Remarcable and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting, auditing, and project cost tracking
  • Collaborate with project managers, field teams, estimators, and engineering staff to understand material needs and specifications for mission-critical electrical systems
  • Support change order procurement and material substitutions when required
  • Ensure all purchasing activities align with company policies, safety standards, and industry best practices

What you'll bring:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in construction or industrial sectors
  • Strong understanding of the electrical and construction industries, including knowledge of electrical materials, commodities, and equipment commonly used in large-scale projects
  • Proven ability to negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times with suppliers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for data analysis and reporting)
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines
  • Experience using Remarcable or similar construction procurement/material management software (e.g., other cloud-based platforms for electrical contractors) is preferred
  • Prior experience supporting data center, mission-critical, or heavy industrial electrical projects is helpful
  • Familiarity with large-scale contractor operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
