CHG Healthcare Services turned to Observian to assist them in the migration of their applications to the AWS Cloud. Observian’s AWS certified cloud engineers have helped jumpstart their application migration process by first performing an AWS Well Architected Review to ensure that CHG implemented AWS’s Best Practices. This review served to train CHG technical staff and ensured that a scalable and secure environment was developed to rapidly migrate applications following best practices. Observian engineers have also helped build CHG’s software delivery process (CI/CD) so that future software application deployments can be rapidly, securely, and properly deployed in the AWS cloud.

Why use the Cloud?

The reason companies are moving to the cloud is for the ROI. Today, if you are hosting a web server on premise, you are paying for that server 100% of the time. When you architect that web server in an AWS cloud, that server can run at night, for example, when no one else is using it, at no cost.

The International Data Corporation reports that the five year total cost of ownership (TCO) of developing, deploying and managing critical applications in AWS delivered a 64.3% savings when compared with deploying the same resources on-premises or in hosted environments. The findings also showed a 560% ROI over five years and 81.7% less downtime.
