Project Overview

Dixie Regional Medical Center has been over a two year project for CVE. This hospital upgrade and expansion was a coordinated design assist effort with Intermountain Healthcare. The hospital has been open and operational during the entire construction process with no interruption to critical systems or patient care. CVE’s Kirk Mountford has been instrumental in this effort because of his experience and knowledge of the existing hospital. Over 175,000 man hours have gone into this project so far, and the result is a state-of-the-art medical facility in the heart of southern Utah’s red rocks.

1ST PORTION | FEB. 2016

PROJECT OVERVIEW | TELEDATA

The Teledata Division is installing basket tray and j-hook pathways for all the hospital’s systems cabling, fiber/ copper backbone, voice/data cabling and hardware, nurse call cabling, PA speaker cabling and system, TV cabling and system. CVE will also build out all new Technology Distribution Rooms (TDRs). This project includes the site rework and installation of fiber and copper cabling for cameras and code blue towers.

SCOPE OF WORK | TELEDATA

The project’s scope of work includes the expansion and rework of the existing TEC (data center). This requires on- going coordination with the Dixie Intermountain Healthcare IT department and team. Project foremen Brett Paxman and Corey Elmer are working in a fully functional hospital TEC and must be very careful not to shut down any systems as they rework all the existing cabling.

When the Dixie campus addition is complete, CVE will have installed:

  • 1,120,000 feet of Siemens Cat6A F/UTP cable
  • 158,000 feet of Siemens Cat5e UTP cable
  • 19,000 feet of 24 St SM fiber
