Our experienced safety professionals guarantee that CVE employees are protected while they’re on the job.  Because job sites can be hazardous, safety regulations are constantly changing and the cost of workers compensation insurance seems to rise daily.  CVE minimizes these risks by ensuring our employees are fully trained on CVE safety policies, customer procedures and government regulations.  Our goal is an accident-free workplace where employees are safe and projects are completed on-time and with the highest quality.

Constant planning and daily reinforcement are key to Cache Valley Electric’s safety program.  Our safety team is involved in each project right from the start and plays an integral role in pre-construction meetings.  Proper safety procedures are crafted for each jobsite, where daily pre-task meetings and job hazard analysis ensure that each task is completed safely.  Safety professionals conduct ongoing training by holding weekly safety meetings with each crew.  Our drug-free workplace policy keeps each employee focused on safety.  All CVE employees are required to participate in pre-employment, random and post-accident drug testing.

Cache Valley Electric’s commitment to safety is evidenced by our superior safety statistics.  Our Experience Modification Rate (EMR) is consistently better than the national average, with a 2014 EMR of 0.67.  CVE’s 5-year EMR average is 80% and our Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) has averaged under 65% for the past 5 years.  We currently have 3.2 million man hours without a lost time accident and work to improve that statistic each day.

CVE’s safety team can be deployed anywhere in the country.  With 10 full-time safety professionals on staff, we have the capability and experience to manage any type of work environment.  Each member of our safety staff is OSHA 30-hour, CPR and First Aid certified, along with other industry and customer –specific certifications.  Our training and expertise keeps our employees safe and our customers’ jobs running smoothly.
